On The Way!

It's somewhat ironic that the most respected airlines in the world hail from a part of the world synonymous with terrorist hijackers. Etihad, and now Emirates, have thoroughly impressed me. Something tells me these Kingdoms have cash to burn...

It's 8am local time here in Dubai. It's 4.30am Dublin time, and 9am at our destination (Delhi). My body is all screwed up, and despite completing a handful of Australia-Europe flights, I'm no closer to mastering the effects. I doubt anybody ever does get used to the drug-like zombie state that is jet lag.

Dubai is as expected, at least from what I can gather from the inside of the airport. All shiny and new, lots of sand outside, and thousands of construction cranes, likely to be matched only in number by the amount of Dubai property developers contemplating suicide at present.

We've managed to find a restaurant that provides free meals for Emirates passengers in transit (take note Michael O'Leary!), so we are currently holed up in there, taking shifts on bag watch whilst the other sleeps on the table. Lise is currently cheek to cheek with Angela Merkel's face on the front of the Financial Times... no girl on girl lesbian fantasies ever included "Die Chancellor". I'm not about to change that now.

My time to sleep.

We'll be in New Delhi by mid afternoon local time.
